Non-Directive Play Therapy - Basics
About the Training
Non-Directive Play Therapy is one of the most basic and effective forms of play therapy. Numerous research studies have demonstrated the positive impact that play therapy can have on children with a variety of presenting problems. This training will provide the participants with the foundation skills of play therapy, including the “family play therapy” model of Filial Therapy.
This 6-week training method provides the participants time to learn the skills, read foundation texts, and practice play therapy in their various contexts. Participants are required to attend all 6 training sessions (worth up to 18 APT education hours) in order to complete the training. A mixture of lecture, videotaped demonstrations, case studies, role plays, and supervision/feedback will be utilized throughout each session of the training. Participants will develop competence in the basic skills of Non-Directive Play Therapy.
This training is for psychologists, social workers, counselors, school counselors, psychiatrists, family therapists, and other experienced professionals who work with children and families.
In order to ensure quality education, each training will be capped at 8 participants, with a minimum of 4 participants. If the training fills up, your name/registration will be added to a waitlist in case there are any cancellations.
When participants are finished, they will be able to:
Due to the nature of preparing this training and the materials required for this training, $200 of the registration fee is nonrefundable. Registrations are on a first-come-first-served basis. Fees include 18 hours of training, books, training booklet, snacks, and supervision. Written cancellations received 4+ weeks prior to the training will receive the balance of the fees refunded. Cancellations received within 4 weeks of the training will forfeit a total of $300, with the remainder being refunded. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given within the final week leading up to the training.
In the unlikely event that the training is cancelled by the presenter, a full refund will be provided, or credit will be applied toward future training's; whichever the registrant chooses.
